Selection Process of Bihar BPSC MVI

• Written Examination – Total 300 Marks
• There are 3 papers, each of 100 marks (Objective/MCQ type):
• Paper 1: General Studies – Basic Math, Science, History, Geography, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, etc.
• Paper 2: Engineering Subject – Either Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (as per your diploma).
• Paper 3: Motor Vehicle Laws & Rules – Based on:
• Motor Vehicle Act, 1988
• Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989
• Bihar Motor Vehicle Rules, 1992
• Duration: 2 hours per paper
• No negative marking
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
• General: 40%
• BC: 36.5%
• EBC: 34%
• SC/ST, Women, PwD: 32%
• 2. Interview / Personality Test – Total 150 Marks
• Case 1: If applicant-to-vacancy ratio ≥ 10:1:
• Interview marks breakdown:
• Subject Knowledge & Personality: 25 marks
• Matric Marks: 10% of total %
• Diploma Marks: % counted directly
• Work Experience: 3 marks per completed year (max 9 marks)
• Specialization (Automobile > Mechanical/Post-Diploma): 6 marks
• Final Merit = Written (300) + Interview (150) = 450 Marks
• Case 2: If applicants are less (ratio < 10:1):
• Selection is based only on Interview (150 marks), no written test.

• After qualifying the exam or interview:
• All documents will be verified:
• 10th Certificate
• Diploma Certificate
• Valid LMV Driving License (learner’s license is not accepted)
• Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Work Experience Certificate (if applicable)
• Driving Test?
• Some unofficial sources mention a driving test, but official BPSC notification doesn’t confirm this.
• As of now, no driving skill test is mentioned in the 2025 notification.

How To Apply Bihar BPSC MVI Form 2025

• Visit Official Portal
• Go to BPSC’s official application portal:
• One‑Time Registration (OTR)
• Click on “New User Registration”.
• Provide your name, date of birth, valid email ID and mobile number (for OTP).
• Set a password. Registration remains valid for future BPSC vacancies.
• DigiLocker Consent
• After OTR, the portal may direct you to DigiLocker Meri Pehchan.
• If you have a DigiLocker account: sign in and give consent to link documents.
• If you don’t have one: sign up and then grant consent.
• Alternatively, you can skip it and proceed to the main application portal.
• Profile Creation
• Fill out your profile in six sections:
• Personal Information
• Address Details
• Other Information (category, gender, etc.)
• Educational Qualification (Class 10, Diploma with marks)
• Work Experience (if any)
• Upload scanned images:
• Live webcam photo
• Signatures: in English & Hindi, each < 20 KB, specific dimensions
  Lock the profile once complete.
• Apply for MVI Advertisement
• Once your profile is locked, go to the “New Application” tab.
• Find Advt. No. 41/2025 – Motor Vehicle Inspector.
• Click “Apply”, fill in form details including:
• Driving license number (LMV, geared vehicle)
• Educational and category info
• Document Upload
• Prepare scanned copies of:
• Passport-size photograph
• English & Hindi signatures
• 10th certificate (DOB proof)
• Diploma certificate (Auto or Mechanical Engineering)
• Valid LMV driving licence (learner licence not accepted)
• Category / EWS / PwD certificate, if applicable
  
• Application Fee Payment
• Pay online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI. Fee details:
• ₹ 750: General / OBC / EWS / other states
• ₹ 200: SC/ST (Bihar), women (Bihar domicile), PwD
• ₹ 200 biometric fee if Aadhaar is not provided
• Review & Submit
• Preview all details before final submission.
• Submit the form and download the final confirmation page.
• Make sure Application Number, Application ID, and Bar Code appear on each printed page.
• Print & Save
• From the “My Account” section, download:
• Final submitted form
• Fee payment receipt
  Keep printed copies safe—you may need them for document verification or future reference.
