The selection process for CLAT UG PG Admission is as follows:

  • CLAT UG (Undergraduate – LLB):
  • Written Test: Candidates appear for the CLAT UG exam, which includes sections on English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Elementary Mathematics.
    Merit List: Based on the scores, a merit list is prepared. There is no separate interview.
    Counselling & Seat Allotment: Qualified candidates are called for online counselling conducted by the Consortium. Seats in participating NLUs are allotted based on rank, preferences, and category reservation.
  • CLAT PG (Postgraduate – LLM):
  • Written Test: Candidates take the CLAT PG exam, which mainly tests Legal Aptitude, Legal Reasoning, and General Knowledge.
    Merit List: A merit list is prepared according to the marks obtained.
    Counselling & Seat Allotment: Successful candidates are offered seats in NLUs through counselling based on their rank and preference.
  • Note: For both UG and PG, admission strictly depends on CLAT exam scores and merit, and some NLUs may have minor variations in counselling procedures.
