Bihar STET 2025 – Selection Process

The Bihar STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) is not a direct recruitment exam. It is an eligibility test. Only those who qualify STET can apply for teacher recruitment exams like TRE-4 conducted by BPSC.

Here is the step-by-step selection process:

1. Online Application

• Candidates must apply online through the official BSEB website.

• Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before applying.

2. Eligibility Criteria Verification

• Educational qualification is checked:

  • For Paper I: Graduate + B.Ed. (for teaching Classes 9–10)

  • For Paper II: Postgraduate + B.Ed. (for teaching Classes 11–12)

3. Application Fee Payment

• Fee is paid online during form submission.

• Different fee amounts for:

  • General/OBC vs SC/ST

  • Applying for one paper or both.

4. Admit Card Release

• Admit cards are issued online before the exam.

• It contains exam date, time, center, and instructions.

5. Written Examination

• Two separate papers:

  • Paper I: For Secondary Level (Class 9–10)

  • Paper II: For Higher Secondary Level (Class 11–12)

• Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• Type: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)

• No negative marking.

• Passing Marks:

  • General: 50%

  • OBC: 45.5%

  • SC/ST/PwD: 40%

6. Result Declaration

• Results are released on the official site.

• Qualified candidates receive the STET Certificate.

7. Validity of STET Certificate

• The certificate is valid for a lifetime.

• It makes you eligible to apply for teaching jobs in Bihar.

8. Teacher Recruitment Exams (Like TRE-4)

• STET does not guarantee a job.

• After qualifying STET, candidates must apply for teacher recruitment exams like TRE-4 conducted by BPSC.
